Just recived this any one intrested:rolleyes:Pleas P M me for contact details dont think they should be posted on here
hope you don't mind me emailing you but I am making a documentary for the BBC and am keen to make contact with dog owners around the country. I am looking into the subject of what happens to dogs when couples split up; what effect a break down in a relationship has on pets and their owners. I have included some information about the documentary below. Please note we are just at the research stage so there is no obligation for anyone to appear on television, I am purely interested in finding out how different people deal with this difficult situation.
If you know of anyone who would be happy to speak to me please pass on my details
Many thanks

New BBC documentary - Who gets custody of the dog
You may have stopped loving each other - but you both still love the dog
Breaking up is certainly hard to do but even more complicated when there is a dog involved. Dog-owners generally have a very special bond with their pets and can struggle to reach some sort of agreement when a relationship turns sour - and indeed disputes over a dog can frequently exacerbate the distress caused by the breakdown of the relationship. Our intention is to understand what it feels like to be separated from a much-loved pet and bring this to peoples' attention in a way that could really help other dog-lovers.
The documentary will be made over the next 2-3 months and shown on BBC One next year. It will feature people in a range of situations from those in the process of splitting and trying to decide who gets the dog; to people who have already split where only one person has got the dog; to people who have already decided some form of joint ownership.
