How often should Cockers be bathed ?

I used to do mine 3 or 4 times a year after I had clipped him, I found that was enough. He died a year past July age 16.5yrs old

I only do my Yankee 3 or 4 times a year, if he's particularly smelly or grubby looking or for the Christmas party. He has one of those coats which doesn't show the dirt until you actually wash him and see the difference - not like my Cavalier, who is nearly impossible to keep clean long enough to get him into the show ring!

My mum has a cocker and he usually gets bathed when he's at the groomer which I think is probably about 4 times a year or so.  Or if he's been galloping through anything particularly horrible he gets hosed out the back :)
