You know a lot of the time these things are decided before the advert goes out but the advert has to be placed for HR reasons (not sure but think it could be equal opportunities) - I'm sure another opportunity will come along.

Thanks. Its just a bit frustrating because you imagine yourself in that desk etc and I was hoping they would take me on to save them having to interview for the girl whos got that job! One of the girls in the department told me that the consultant (who didnt interview) had mentioned he wanted this girl because he knew her. I suppose its better the devil you know scenario. I'll keep looking but the way the NHS is at the minute full time secretarial jobs are few and far between!
