Had Val contact me.  Just thought I would let you know I am alive and well, though slowly going out of my mind and getting poorer than ever.

Needed to get my kitchen sorted as the one I had was over 20 years old.

Could only afford cheapo Wickes take away kitchen, and had brother do the tiling.  Less said the better about reliability of relatives as workers, been paid but job still not done.

Bought nice new doors only to find that the downstairs doors were 31 inches not the standard 30 so need to play around with altering the frames (original nasty flat doors had been extended by adding to the sides).

Then started stripping the wood chip in the hall only to have areas of plaster come with it.

Wanted to make two rooms again as the previous people had knocked the two together and blocked off the door, so we now have a hole where the old door had been and are working on trying to fill the gap and make a stud wall.

My very Autocratic his way or no way Dad has taken charge of this project, and I would like to emigrate to the moon.

All this time (since 18th August) the poor girls have had to spend most of their time in the outside kennel and run which they never normally use other than two of them sleep in the kennel at night.

Jozi especially is not best pleased, but the other two and the little rescue are quite happy, and I get them all in for a bit of a cuddle when the work is done, but of course it isn't exactly dog friendly with all the tools etc around as well as doors off hinges etc.

Little rescue girly chewed through a cable on one of the tools and I had to lie and say I shut it in the door!!!

Glad that you are fine - I had noticed that you hadn't posted, but assumed that someone would have posted if you weren't OK (not sure that that is reliable tho'' :D ). Poor you - hopefully the end result will be worth it :) :) :)

We have been in chaos at home since the beginning of the year - OH replacing bathrooms and now painting outside of the house. This last bit means removing any removeable window bits, so that they can be painted properly - but also means that we are missing windows for days on end (hope no-one knows where we are and tells the local burglars :D :D ) Can't complain as OH does do a good job although he's a tad slow :D

and I would like to emigrate to the moon Oh dear. Fathers and home improvement all at the same time. You are glutton for punishment.

I did wonder where you were..

Fingers crossed it will all be done soon.  :-)

Sounds like chaos, hopefully you are over the worst of it and the results will be worth it.  I would  have done something like you though telling a little fib about the cable :D.

Unfortunately for some reason my computer won't load my pictures from the camera so no piccies, but she goes to her new home with experienced Elkhound folk in the morning.

She was very timid with them tonight, but I suppose it will take time.  This one really was so much more affected by her lack of socialisation and low rank in the pack than the others and it will take a lot of time for her to be the little person she can be.

I thought you'd gone very quiet! You must be tearing your hair out with frustration, but hopefully the worst will be over before too long and you can call your house your own again. :) (You wouldn't like the moon; I'm told the leash-laws are even worse than here! ;) :D)
