I could scream

I've just got back from Darlington Champ Show, and it's been one mishap after another today. I arrived late to start with, and had to rush into the ring with my Veteran Irish Setter, no ring card clip and no slobber cloth. Anyway, he stood alone so won the class. So he has to go in the challenge, I knew he wouldn't get anything, but we go in anyhow. While I'm in there, Jasmine, American Cocker misses her class, all three entries were absent, so If I'd got my act together she would have won too.

Then to put the tin hat on it all, I decide to leave early because it's hot, then once I get going in the car, I realise I should have challenged the Veteran bitch for BVIB with a chance of going into the big ring, Darlington has a veteran group,:confused: what's the matter with me. I knew all this weeks ago, and thought how nice it would be to get into that position. Then when I'm almost there I mess it up:mad: I'm so so mad with myself.

I know that feeling, although mine wasnt quite on that scale.I went to Derby County Show, anyway my daughter was in puppy and we won that class which was fantastic. Then as no-one turned up for Junior they went straight into Post-graduate without telling anyone, and the dog I had brought for the class missed it.I was in shock, and kicked myself all the way home!!!

Hi Dawn,

I wondered whrfe you were!  Didn't manage to see too much of the Yankees, as I havd Lionel Pug wiht me, but did get to see Open Dog and then Open bitch ( got called away to Secretary's ten so missed the bit in between!)  Isn't it always the case that when one thing goes wrong the rest snowballs!

Are you going to the Club show?
bye

Bad luck Dawn, we've all been there I expect! I've always wished to find George (my Yankee) in a class of his own as that seems to be the only way to get a judge to look past the lack of coat and slightly up to size and to see the shape of his head and his lovely movement! :-D

Ever took a friend and her dog to a show and forgot that you'd entered your own? I have

I did once turn up at the wrong venue - had to call a friend to find out where the show actually was, realise my mistake when I pulled in to find an almost empty car park.

Hi guys, I began to feel better once I saw the results later on Sunday evening. It turns out that the Veteran bitch winner (a well known Champion) also got the bitch CC, so I don't doubt that she would have beaten us for BVIB  anyway.

So, no sweat......... anymore :)
