Hi
My 5 year old Springer did an eye-catching poo this morning (didn't see first two) - soft and very spotted with white. I wormed her two weeks ago, she is taking Rimadyl (2 x 2 a day) and hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary that I've noticed - but she picks stuff up when she can when we're out. Any clues?
Also, any recommendations for lameness following rest, other than Rimadyl? She's had this lameness on and off (can go weeks without a limp) for at least a year.
Thanks
Hi. To answer you and Justi, I asked for x-rays to see if arthritis was visible. My dog is very active and I think, as she came from a home with two older dogs, her previous owners allowed her to over-exercise when she was young. My vet said that an x-ray probably wouldn't show anything and to walk Tilly on her lead for a while. Easier said than done. Anyway, she's been off the Rimadyl for two days, isn't limping and probably DOES have arthritis and I'm waiting for an order of Seraquin to turn up. I'd prefer to keep the joint moving and letting her run if she wants to, along with a load of massage when she's resting. The running is limited, though, I should add! As for the spotty poo... she is always pretty loose and I think the spots could be down to some Glucosamine/Chrondroitin/MSM powder capsules a friend gave me for Tilly. She's not had them since but did react to the Rimadyl by being subdued and having a very runny bottom with, I think, blood (although Mum said Tilly had been eating blackberries - looked red not blackberry). Tilly is much more like her old self now she's Rimadyl free.
