How can I find out details of how many litters with dates that have been registered to a particular stud dog ?
Thanks, Aimi.

Most breeds have their own databases now so if you type in google X breed database this should help, alternatively your breed club(s) reps should be able to point you in the right direction.

finding out how many litters a stud has sired is harder than finding out how many litters a bitch has had. It would mean going through all the BRS going back till he was first used at stud. Not all stud dogs are on data bases, or the number of litters they have sired, I tried to find out how many my dogs sire had sired and not all the information is on the database.

You can buy a copy of this info from the KC - last report of one of my dogs stud records I got cost £5. However, I have a feeling that you may have to be the owner of the dog to buy on, but not certain, try contacting the KC and asking.

Why not ask the owner. They will probably have kept a record.
Yes, I know they will have records - I don't altogether trust what she has said so this is why I was asking for an official record (like from the KC)

I know this isnt do do with the question but what does it mean to you by the numbers?
Just wondered why it is important to you? Not that it shouldn't be.
A valuable peice of advice in the dog world never enter or have dealings with people you cannot or do not trust 100%.
Hi Blue,
You may have read that my bitch missed. A bitch that the stud dog served before her also missed but I know that he served a bitch before that and had a nice litter (so, mated 3 bitches within aprox 1 1/2 years with only 1 litter produced).
I have a free return and Noe's cycle is every 10 months. So what I'm really wanting to find out is if he has sired any other litters in between nowish and next season and when Noe comes into season again do I chance the dog again or go elsewhere. The stud dog owner could say that he has sired another litter when he may not have done.
Don't get me wrong - the dogs owner and I got on really well. She has bred many champions and may be totally honest - I've just been hit a bit hard by my bitch missing and just want to "hedge my bets"
By the way, been speaking to my vet about the pre-mate test today and they are quoting £52.00 per blood test. Price wise does that sound about right?
that sounds expensive, my vet charged my friend £20 per test, they have labs there too so can tell you in a couple of hours.

Perhaps you should speak to the stud dog owner and share your concerns. Honesty is often the best policy.
Premate tests I get done for £22.90. I always do them and have 100% success with them.

Can't she keep your bitch at the time/ Also were all the bitches swabbed before being used? Could be a bitch that has caused the problem if there is any. But just like us doesn't always mean that you are going to become pregnant :d
Thanks everyone. Think I will have a word with the stud dog owner nearer the time - Blue you are right. Perrodeagua - swabbing wasn't talked about at all - certainly I wasn't asked to swab. I know there is many factors to her missing but I want to narrow them down as much as possible.
Anyone in the Bury/Bolton/Manchester area with a vets charging less than £52.00 for a pre-mate test please can you PM me with details.
Thanks, Aimi.
