Hi,
I have heard lots of different explanations for this behavior but could someone finally clear this up for me , Why do dogs eat grass ?
My Gsp seems to be half fresian at the moment and is eating alot of grass , once or twice she has vomitted up grass, her generally health and apperance ,behavior seems to suggest no underlining problems, there is no loss of condition or appetite.

Grazing

There seems to be no rhyme or reason why my dogs graze. The GSP's tend to do it a lot more frequently than the others  The only thing I did notice was it is always new shoots that they eat. Personally, I think it is a habit with them. They do it because they enjoy it :-)

Leigh,
She is very selective on the grass she eats and does pick out the new shoots.

My SWD's also eat grass quite a lot and again enjoy the new shoots.

Took Lydia to the vet the other day and she commented on how there was grass and seemed surprised when I said that all of my dogs eat it, every day.
