I can't believe how fast the time has gone - Felix is 6 months old and in his first proper show on Saturday!
It is an open show, West Country Dog Club (Weston-Super-Mare). Is anyone here going?

We have been to 3 companion shows for practice and we are getting better. He won 4th in AV Puppy at the first one and the other 2 he won 1st in AV Puppy and BPIS :)

There are classes for his breed at this show (only 2 though) so he is entered in Post Grad. I also entered him in the AV Gundog charity stakes, junior class. I was reading the rules in the schedule but I think I confused myself! If he wins best puppy in breed, should I withdraw him from the other class so he remains unbeaten for when we go in the puppy group? Or have I understood that wrong?
Also, I've never actually been to an open show! I'm not sure what to do. Where do I get my number from?

Poor Felix is off to the vet tomorrow morning to have his blood drawn for PRA testing. I'll have to remember to tell them not to clip his coat!

Bekki.  Yes if he win BPIB then withdraw from AV class.

You will get your number in the ring.  As you go in ask the steward for your number which is in the catalouge

Logan is at Darlington on Sunday and has been leading Louise a bit if a merry dance this week, so hopefully he will behave himself enough for the judge to go over him !!!

I would have liked to go to Darlington but it's too far (my dad wont drive me there!) it's a shame as it would be nice to meet some of Felix's littermates again. Hopefully we will see a few of them at his first champ show (Gundog Society of Wales).

Poor Felix had his blood taken this morning, but he coped fine and loved going to the vet as usual! The blood sample has been packaged and sent off to the clinic now... I'm hoping that he's clear for PRA!

Well I better go and pack my bag for the show tomorrow, so I don't forget anything!

Well I'm back :D

There was a good entry of Tollers for an open show - 8 in total. Felix came 3rd out of 5 (Post Grad) :)
Then in the gundog junior stakes... 12 were entered but only 4 showed up! Felix was placed... 1st :D

He behaved so well, I'm so proud of him :)

Not sure what he will do........ He has been round this evening after a bath, ran riot with the aussies and had a photo shoot and he is STILL on the go !!!!!!!!
