Topic Dog Boards / Health / Is this a sign of infection?

Could not believe my eyes this evening.  Dog had just dozed off on her blanket in front of me when I saw that she was leaking urine.  I said her name and she woke immediately but there was a huge puddle by then.  She has always been very clean in herself so I am confused, especially as she was on her blanket and asleep. Over the last week I have noticed the odd wet patch (just little bits) but couldn't be sure it was urine or water where she's had a drink and dribbled it around the house.  She is in and out the house all the time so it's not because she couldn't get outside.

What do you think?

Is she spayed ? If not it could be a sign of Pyrometra If she is spayed it could be be because she is spayed

I would get her to the vet ASAP

It can also indicate problems with kidneys.
I had an older Boxer bitch spayed since her early years (2yr)
she was 10yr old when she kept having accidents. Not like her at all.
Anyhow after being treated for incontinence it seemed to be ok but then
it was happening even with the medication.
Turns out she had a ruptured kidney tumour :(

I would get her checked at the vets as it could well be and spayed or not they can still get bladder infections.
Incidentally in all my years of having dogs the only two incontinent ones I have known have not been spayed.
If there proves to be no infection the vet can give something to help stop incontinence.

Thanks.  Was thinking myself it might be onset of incontinence but wanted to be told otherwise.
