My 5 month old GR had diarrhoea last Thursday night but then he was fine by Friday morning, so I put it down to too many treats at his obedience class (which he is not used to).
On Sunday during the night he had diarrhoea again and we thought he'd picked something up from the garden. He was fine all day Monday and then last night he had another bout. Today he has been fine again.
I've given him electrolytes and won't feed him until tomorrow, but should I be taking him to the vet? He seems to be bright in himself and he also seems to be desperate for food! (he is fed raw).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Maria

Hi Maria
All mine have been having bouts like this over the last few months. I am putting it down to the hot weather. I haven't been too concerned over mine and if he is well enough in himself you probably haven't got a serious problem. However if you have any real concerns then better safe than sorry.

Thanks Alison, he is really bouncy tonight but has had another ' bout ' not as bad as before so hopefully he is on the mend. I'll see how he is in the morning and make a decision on vets or not. I don't really want him to have antibiotics if possible, and I think that's what the vet will prescribe!

Could it be something he's eating? Mine are both raw fed but at 22months old one of them gets 'loose' if lamb is fed to her.
Just a thought :)

Hi Missie
No I haven't changed anything, he's just been having chicken wings and his vegetables, not given him lamb for about a month as it gives him terrible wind! He had another bout during the night and a little this morning, but he seems to have settled a bit now, he's on cooked chicken and rice today - he's still very active and doesn't seem to be in any discomfort so I'll just keep my eye on him for the time being, see how he is in the morning - if he has another bout tonight I'll definitely take him to the vet tomorrow!
Thanks for your help!

Jasper seems to be OK now, nothing since this morning, so fingers crossed he's on the mend.
If he is OK through the night then I will gradually start him on his normal food tomorrow.
Thanks for all your help!

Well I spoke too soon - Jasper was sick last night, it seemed to be more than he had eaten but I know this can't be the case!
He's still very bouncy and active, but I've phoned the vets and they said as long as he seems fine in himself, just keep our eyes on him and keep feeding chicken and rice and take him tomorrow afternoon if he isn't fully recovered! No more runs though in fact he hasn't done anything in that department since yesterday morning!
