Can anyone recommend any dog training classes in South Manchester - Sale, Timperley, Altrincham areas please?
I have an 11 month old labrador who went to puppy classes but is at that phase now where he is getting stronger and is so interested in other dogs/people when he's on his walk whatever I say or do doesn't register!
Thanks!

I go to one at Woodford on a Tuesday evening so it's only 20 minutes away.  There's another one that although I quite enjoyed it there and their dogs were at a quite high level in obedience but unfortunately some of their methods were not my cup of tea ie choke chains had to be used!

The one at Woodford is quite good, they also do the good citizen's test but I'd better not say anything regarding that on here :d  But I do the more advanced class with my girl and she loves it.

If you find one, I would be interested.

I can't find one that isn't charging the earth for lessons within the area, especially when training multiple dogs......

I contacted the Kennel Club and they sent a list to me with trainers in my area.
If it helps, I've paid £45 for 6 classes and there are 6 dogs in the class, I don't think this is too expensive but i don't have anything to compare it with!

I rang one who wanted £50 a year as a set fee and then £50 every 6 weeks per dog, and seeing as I could train all 4, I would have needed to take out a second mortgage to pay ongoing training fees !!!!!

Ours are £2.50.for 45 minutes :) No course as such, no payment in advance, only pay per session. Very well trained instructors - all BIPDT :)

Nothing wrong with the training just don't get on with one of the trainers, do I Gabrielle? :d :d

The beginner puppy class is great and I'm sure that most people would be OK with the rest.  It's really cheap too.  Just pay for the year and I think a £15 fee to do the Bronze Good Citizen classes but for this you can take as many of your dogs as you are able to :d  By this I mean I had a puppy in the puppy class and my older girl in the more advanced class.

There is someone that I really like who I believe trains nearby but when a few of us got together and did training with her it was too expensive for myself.  I believe that she has started a class nearby and that it's cheaper and my friend is going to get in touch with her for more details.  She's really good, very into clicker training and I think has also done a behavioural course and she's one of those trainers that your dogs even with problems seem to like, so she must be good :d

When I find out where her classes are now being held I will advise you both if you wish?
