My female ckcs has a small lump over her rib the size of a grain of rice the vet thinks it could be a cist and I should watch it to see if it grows I know I am being a moron but what is a cist will she be ok?

A cyst is a fluid filled sac. My Irish Setter has numerous sebaceous cysts, that are completely harmless, every now and again I squeeze the sebum out. I did have one operated on, because it was fairly large and obvious being right where his ear joins his head, it was the size and shape of a large grape. Otherwise I just don't worry about them.

Alf, my Irish Setter, has one on his back, really annoying because its right where the judge runs their hands, but harmless all the same.

I was just going to say, are you sure it isn't her microchip? Sounds like it could well be -I can feel the chips on almost all of my cats and on the smallest dog, but not on the big dogs.

Yes Gemma, it could very well be her microchip, they can move from their original position.

With it being the size and shape of what i thought the microchip was I was sure it was but the vet said it isn't it slips around a bit
