I just wormed both my dogs with the 10% panacur wormer, and they both got upset tummys, i called the vet and told them i suspected that it was the wormer, but he advised i bring in both my dogs for a consultion, at £15 per head  is it just me or is it hard to find a good vet these days,  will the wormer still be affective, and will the upset tummys settle down? i see from the breeding board that other people have experienced this too, but i've just brought a whole bottle will it have the same effect if i use it again? I also wanted to ask about my 7months old teeth, she has her adult teeth througth but along side her cannies on the top she still has her puppy cannies aswell, it looks rather odd but doesn't bother her they seem pretty secure.
Thankyou

If you were sure it is the wormer why did you call the vet?  If you want him to rule anything else out you are going to need a consultation aren't you?  I'm just not sure what it was you wanted the vet to do.

Regarding the teeth, if they are not pushed out soon get them extracted. They can affect the bite if the little teeth have a strong hold.

Most of the time the new teeth will push them out.

Ive had to get one of those teeth extracted by the vet in one of my pups.

If the teeth don't come out soon of their own accord have the vet extract them to make sure they don't cause misalignment which can be very painful for the dog.

Dogs can get upset stomachs after worming but only you can decide whether the upset actually warrants a trip to the vet and your vet sounds like he's offering the sort of advice I'd expect any vet to offer! In other words, if you are concerned about your dog, bring it over for him to have a look. There's a limited amount of advice a vet can give over the phone and the last thing they want to do is hazard a diagnosis without examining the dog only for you to take him to court if he was wrong.

In my experience worming related runny stomachs are usually short-lived. But then I've never had a dog who actually had worms!

My pup also kept her 2 canines after the adult teeth came through, she's now 9 months and 1 milk canine came out last month and the other is just starting to feel loose, so you might want to wait a little while longer before having them extracted.
