Bought Inkie a lovely marrow bone from the butchers today but went outside later to find it half buried in the garden!!! Anyone else had missing bones??

Our dog left his bone out in the garden one night and our neighbour found it in her garden next morning and was good enough to return it. I can only think a fox had decided to help itself but found it too heavy to carry :D

neither of mine bury bones now, but as a child i had a JRT and she was a little b***er for it lol. she would bury in the garden till nice and smelly, then bring back in the house and up to my bed  (she used to use the cat flap)  the amount of times i got into bed and found stinking bones in there was awful   I loved her vey much all the same :-D

Tara buries bones all the time :) Then digs them up later and tries to bring them indoors .... :D

Mine always buries rather than gets on and eat them .  I tried giving them in the conservatory on the washable floor but when I went back there was earth everywhere and a bone buried in my largest pot plant :)  We just don't do bones now apart from chicken wings.

It took Clover 12 years to learn about bones. She used to bury them then sit and guard the tomb. She will now eat them, though. None of the others have twigged what to do with them - they take them to their beds and guard them, but aren't interested in gnawing them. I don't bother any more - it's more trouble than it's worth, and the dogs get so stressed!

My cocker spaniel, Bob, always buried bones. In fact he was so good at burying them that I think he forgot where he'd put them and Nips managed to dig a very decomposed bone-like object up earlier this summer. Unfortunately, poor old Bob died nearly 4 years ago so never got the benefit of this particular bone. Neither, it has to be said did Nips since I removed the disgusting object from his jaws and despatched it to a final (and unreachable) resting place!

I bet Nips reckoned it was just about ripe! :D

He certainly couldn't see what was wrong with giving a dog a "vintage" bone, that's for sure! :D :D
