Hi guys

Have to vent my anger.  Actually the title isn't quite correct although it's part of my vent :d

I received an e-mail this morning from a certain website asking me to advertise on their website.

For one it doesn't even have my breed mentioned on there and weve been a breed for centuries and have been in the UK for 14 years, but they have the Labradoodle as a breed!!

I had to vent my anger and told them in no uncertain terms that I would not advertise any of my dogs on there and mentioned the Labradoodle as being a crossbreed and not a pedigree as they state.  Their reply back was tht the KC are actively looking into accepting the breed.  Now the last thing I heard was that the KC aren't going to accept this breed has anyone heard differently?

If they do I find it annoying that breeds like mine that have been going for centuries take so long to be accepted, 14 years and we are still on the import register, but now it sounds as though they are going to accept the Labradoodle??

What even annoyed me more when I went on the site was that someone was looking for a Pomeranian to go with their Maximillion lined Yorkie which has no papers!!!

I'm 100% certain that the Kennel Club will not be accepting the 'Labradoodle' as a breed any time soon.

Why would the KC make an exception for them, when there are so many Rare breeds and Import register breeds, already waiting and following all the many rules? I'd stake my salary on it not being true, even the Kennel Club aren't that daft.

After the furore at Crufts with the Fogles and Peter Purves they (the KC) assured the dog public that the rumour was not true.

Well this person is adamant!!  Though there again when their website advertises blatantly allowing people to mix breeds what can I say  :confused::confused:

I'm wondering if this is the same website that
a) asked me to advertise my stud dog (my 9 yo Golden Retiever who lives in Brussels, you mean?)
b) outright asked me to link back to their site from my project site.
*shakes head in wonder*
On another forum I've heard people complaining about the people who emailed me, so I can only assume they've just launched a mass and not very selective advertising campaign!

This weeks papers suggest the kennel club are thinking about accepting the Inuit Breed

Vocal Dog I would say yes it is the same website.

I hope that they don't accept the Inuit, from what I've seen the characters of some of the dogs lead a lot to be desired and unfortunately people in the Manchester area seem to have used other breeds and saying that they are full Inuit breeding but looking at some of the dogs I don't think they are.  I've known two people to have them and they've both been rehomed within 3 months

Don't the KC expect dogs to have a purpose to accept them as a breed?
- By Nikita [gb] Date 10.09.06 13:11 UTC
I can't see why they would - there were a few articles in dog world a while back about mis-management of breed clubs and the KC taking issue with it, given the ever-changing state of affairs with the inuit/utonagan/[insert new name] clubs (and other aliases) I shouldn't think the KC would accept them.  I'd hope not anyhoo!

The KC insists that while first crosses are still being used they can never be recognised as a breed.

To be recognised as a breed there needs to be a published standard and they have to show that they have been breeding true (no new crosses) for several generations.

After Crufts the KC issued emails which made it abundantly clear that there was no possibility of even considering the Labradoodle as a breed in the foreseeable future. Anyone that says otherwise isn't telling the truth. Unfortunately these are the people who shout the loudest.

Thanks :) We were meeting Noobie's half brother who had recently gone to a new home - we hadn't seen him in ages!!!

(By the end of the walk though I was so brown with mud and grime that I wouldn't have been out of place with one of your colour coordinated crew LOL)

Well I have to say that the dogs with you looked stunning.

Glad to hear that you were matching my colour when you left.  Isn't it lovely with the brown dots all over your face and black smudges all down the arms :d  Spanish Water Dogs, why did I get into this breed?  Even though the weather's beautiful I still looked as though I'd been on a muddy water drenched field, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway :d :d

im looking after my friends very white spaniels at the moment, there is one big muddy puddle in the whole of the woods where I walk and you can guarantee they will find it no matter what  same as the one dead fox in the back field I suppose, not matter how far away I walk from it they will always find it to roll on

All good fun
