just wondering if anyone has experience with these seasons, basically  my bitch should be in season, she has gone big around the back, , but the thing is, there is no blood, is it possible for her to a have a season without blood.  she has had two other seasons that for me were normal ie with blood for a few days then ready to be mated  (not that she has, just the time when she gets randy and is wanting it)   then gets smaller at the back again!
so is she having a season at the moment or not??

many thanks

angela.

Hi,

Yes bitches can have something called a dry season where they are still able to conceive but don't bleed, but this is not very common. It's more likely that she's just started swelling a bit earlier this time and will start to bleed in a couple of days or so, they can be swollen for a week or more before they start bleeding and can be swollen for quite a while after they finish bleeeding aswell.

I had this with my girl, she finally came in properly at 8 mnths and not the 6 we expected. She's on her 2nd season now....at last.
