I picked up a schedule yesterday. Its on Friday 5th and Sat 6th of Jan.  There arent many breed classes, and very few CC's.

Oh yeah I meant to pick one up yesterday and forgot!  Are there any classes for the import register?
- By ClaireyS Date 04.09.06 21:30 UTC
yes there is AV hound/gundog/terrier imported register on the Saturday, judged by Mrs Sandra M Marshall.  Looks like you can enter online at www.fossedata.net

Just had a look on Fosse Data, what a strange schedule LOL. Suppose that's what most societies' schedules looked like when they first got any CCs, but I'm far too young :D to remember that.

it is strange isnt it, I didnt realise societies were restricted at first as to how many CC's they can give out.  Loads of stakes classes though. Irish have CC's and its our "type" of judge (he bred alfs dad) so I will be dragging myself up to Newark

YAY for the first time ever I will be able to literally fall out of bed and go to a CH Show.  I only 7 mins way :-)

Many thanks for your replies. Would you give me the sect. phone number from the schedule please. Very much appreciated.

you can print one from fosse data :)
- By Anndee [gb] Date 05.09.06 17:25 UTC
Many thanks for that ClaireyS.
I have now checked it out on Fosse Data and unfortunately there are no classes for my breed :(
In fact I was very surprised at how few breeds there are classes for!
Cheers again Anne

If it is only local though you can always enter AVNSC working (it is Dobes you have isnt it ?) I assume they are only allowed to start off with a certain amount of CC's then depending on numbers they get given more each year.
- By Liisa [gb] Date 06.09.06 08:57 UTC
Yeah only local so entering AVNSC and some stakes classes. :-)

Just wondering how many people will bother entering Boston as there are very few breeds scheduled and it is considerably more than the price of an open show.   Seem to remember it was a Christmas premier open show last year - what a pity it's been changed.

would of loved to enter but it is 2 and half hours away from me and they have no spitz classes on or border collies unless i am just looking in the wrong section

We usually do it every year, but with no Rott classes, we won't be going, and we get generally get an excellent entry

I read in the dog press that they were giving CC's to the breeds who need them - dont understand why they have given them to Irish Setters, we get them everywhere
- By sarahl [gb] Date 12.09.06 12:16 UTC
Interesting - I hadn't read that.   Surely then, the likes of cavs, paps and goldies also already have plenty of cc's allocated to them.

I wonder if they will schedule more breeds next year - I don't know much about establishing new champ shows and how long it takes to build up the breeds.  Hopefully they will, otherwise it's a pity as Boston was a popular Christmas show.
