Argh, thought it would be nice to buy a stethoscope from ebay but when I looked there were loads of different types. Anyone know which type is best to listen to unborn pups hearts? and also how you do it (listen to them that is not ebaying!).
Or anyone with one they don't want they want to sell?

Go for the cheapest double headed medical stethoscope you can find on eBay. But don't expect to hear too much of the puppies' heartbeats with it. It is one thing to hear the heartbeat of one baby (and obstetricians don't find it easy which is why they use other means) - quite another sorting out a whole litter of puppies most of whom are tucked up under mum's ribcage until the last moment. The big advantage of having a stethoscope in your dog kit is if you have a sick dog so that you can hear if the heart is beating regularly and if the lungs are clear or full of fluid. But even then, you need to know what you are listening for.
