Have any of you noticed how our T.V. screens are being taken over by 'American teeth'??  I watched 'Corrie' last night and there was Kim Marsh, 'Tracey Barlow' 'Maria' all 'hissing' through 'American' teeth!  Then at 8pm.....the golf with Jane Seymour looking like something out of 'Wallace and Gromit'  :)  Do they think they look 'nice'?  What do you all think?
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 29.08.06 07:58 UTC
What do you mean 'American teeth'? I watched corrie last night and didnt notice anything?!?
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 29.08.06 08:01 UTC
Big square false-looking bright white teeth that all the Americans (and Wallace and Gromit) have!!  :)
- By Lori Date 29.08.06 15:06 UTC
I have big, square white American teeth but they're real. Maybe it's all our cross-breeding. ;-)

Yep. The whole porclain veneer thing is quite fake and very false. IMO Simon Cowell looks like he has false teeth and I bet he paid a fortune for the priviledge!
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 29.08.06 08:06 UTC
Is that really american though? I think people are just trying to look their best. I think its a good thing cos I find if someone has a tooth missing my eyes are drawn straight to it!!!:D
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 29.08.06 08:11 UTC
No, there really is a difference between looking after your teeth and the 'American' teeth!!  :)  :)
- By Carla Date 29.08.06 08:12 UTC
It originated in America.

I disagree. I'd rather see someone with natural, clean teeth, than someone with sparkly white false ones :D
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 29.08.06 08:13 UTC
Id love sparkly white teeth!!
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 29.08.06 08:15 UTC
Me too...but not the 'American' ones :)

I'm with you, I think they look completely unnatural and wrong.

There was quite a funny review of Corrie last week. Somebody wrote that they were suprised that Tracey went away for a few days, came back with new white teeth and Charlie didn't notice !.
Talking of Tracey, did you see the episode the other day went she asked Maria to colour and cut her hair. She was only charged £25 !. Cor, wish I could go to Audrey's !.

I do agree - they look like 'posh' false teeth.
The thing that troubles me most is that they completely ruin the natural teeth to fit the veneers !
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 29.08.06 09:38 UTC
.........and they seem to distort the mouth!  Paula Abdul can hardly open her mouth to speak!  :)  Just a thought.....I hope none of these people are members of CD!  :)  :)

Um,
I have veneers.
4 Porceline veneers on my top 4 front teeth.
An NOONE notices.
This was done due to flouridation of the teeth.
They were done by a good dentist. They are NOT White as the rest of my teeth are not, so they match the rest of my teeth. They are not huge like Cillas, they look totally natural.
I have had them since I was 7 years old. So dont be fooled that just because you have veneers you look rediculous!!!!
Although saying that, If I had my time again I probably wouldnt have them, as I cant bite into anything hard, cant eat anything with my front teeth as they pop off and I have to have them put back on :(
Thought i would share the 'real' storey on veneers!!!!
Oh and yes I agree, some look totally STUPId as are too white and tooo big!!!!!!!!!1
Lea :)

Oh that's cool..... I think the really white ones look stupid, but if they go well with your natural color it's okay I think. How much do you pay per tooth these days? I was considering it at one point but for my lower teeth as I have gaps between them. I'd only have about 3 put in, but now I'm scared..... does it mean you can't eat normally at all?

Never mind the teeth, what about the beautifully manicured nails, how'd they manage that pulling pints on old beer pumps, not a split nail in sight ;)
- By Missie Date 29.08.06 15:49 UTC
Not noticed the teeth so much as 'that' hairdo! It gets taller by the episode and I soo want to flatten it with a brush

gosh can't remember his name now, him thats taken over the factory, ?
- By ChristineW Date 29.08.06 19:09 UTC
Danny or Adam?
- By Dill [gb] Date 29.08.06 22:04 UTC
Now come on, surely Adam's got a wig there! ;) :D
- By Oldilocks [in] Date 30.08.06 05:07 UTC
Surely not!.........no-one would be daft enough to buy a wig like that!  :) :)
- By Dill [gb] Date 31.08.06 10:38 UTC
Could anyone be daft enough to have their hair like that tho?  :D
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 31.08.06 13:24 UTC
The words 'sheep head' come to mind!
- By Oldilocks [in] Date 31.08.06 14:01 UTC
That is disrespectful to sheep!!  :)  :)
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 01.09.06 08:41 UTC
:D
- By Missie Date 01.09.06 10:48 UTC
Yes that's him, Adam  its like a busby :P

And whilst on the subject, do you think Charlie practises those facial expressions for the camera? His eyebrows must get paid as an 'extra' and his mouth moves even when he isn't talking :D
