Well, I'm sneaking back on again.   Today is the first day that I have got dressed & come downstairs (I really MUST get a wireless laptop!).  The aches and pains are going, and I'm certainly not feeling worse - so yesterday afternoon, I called the drs, told them this & asked if I couldn't get up - if I promised not to (1) walk dogs, (2) play with dogs (3) do any housework and (4) not to kill OH!

Dr called me back and said that if I was feeling better, then I might as well potter around a bit, but nothing too mad (so I can play with dogs, but no housework or cooking :D ) .   I'm still on the A/bs though - have to finish them off - and have to go down to Drs on Tuesday so that they can give me the once-over.

It's a bit of a shocker, when your dr's surgery calls you, asks you if you are in bed - because if not, I'd better get back in there - that I HAD to take it seriously :(    However, all does seem to be well, I'm glad to say - and just glad that I did go down when I did, it could have caused no end of problems if I hadn't!

There are a couple of nasty repercussions however ........we were planning on going to Conneticutt in 10days time, at the beginning of September, to see Sarah & family (including Lucy their springer baby), and also go visit a couple of Australian Shepherd kennels - now of course, we can't go - my insurance company has told me that I would not be covered for any ailment which might "pertain to this viral infection".   So, in other words, if I were to have a heart attack out of the blue, I could find myself without any insurance cover in the most expensive place in the world to be sick!!!    Fortunately, our airline also agrees, so we've got refunds :) .

It hasn't been without canine dramas either .......... Freya has had to have 2 visits to the vet - for the "morning after" jab - her season should well and truly have finished, but whilst Adrian was feeding them on Thursday evening, Thor and Freya had other things than dinner on their minds :eek::eek:    So she was hauled off yesterday morning for her first jab, and down again this morning for her 2nd.   Thor of course, thinks he is no Top Banana Dog/Macho King ......little does he know that arrangements are being put in hand for him to take a teensy weensy trip to see Auntie Lizzie too..........

So, madness still reigns here at Manic Mansions - and I'll pop back on again later.

So pleased to see you on the mend :) Glad that you are taking it seriously, as we don't seem to mend quite as quickly as we did when we were 21 :D :D Hopefully you'll be able to rearrange the trip when you are fully better (and insurable :D ) :)

Take care

Daisy

So good to know you are on the mend, mind you take good care still, lots of rest, not to much stress, so that means no fretting about what you cant do.
Now lay back and enjoy being thoroughly spoiled, magazines, books, goodies all around.
Here's to a full recovery.;-)

Glad you are feeling better in yourself, but........get back to bed!! :-D the doc has told you to stay there for a reason, if you re-couperate too soon, it may set you back in the long run. It is really hard for us women not to keep doing the odd little thing we get bored so much quicker, but just have a quick drink and look on the comp, then straight back upstairs or you'll start noticing all the things not done properly in your absence and feel the need to put it right.

How awful that you have missed out on your hols :-(  But your health is more important.

Keep resting!

Glad you're on the mend and how brilliant that you've got a doctors surgery that cares so much.

Thanks all - I am (trying) to be good!!!  Housework - well I can leave that - but do want to be doing some gardening now that we've had some rain.....but I'll leave that til after I've seen the doctor.   I will also (oh so reluctantly :rolleyes:) ignore the pile of ironing that is mounting up on the kitchen table ......will somehow have to re-acquaint OH with iron - or the concept of folding washing up :D.

Dogs are absoluely fine Ktee - OH, & No 3 son are keeping them well exercised (AND keeping boys away from Freya too )

Glad you are feeling better Margot :-)

To be honest, I think you must forget about housework, ironing and cooking for the rest of your life.....it's the best way, honest ;-)

In all seriousness, stay as relaxed as you possibly can, stuff everything, your health is the most important thing at the moment.

Keep resting! Glad to hear you're up and about but don't go overboard. Just stick to safe activities like, posting on CD! It's a good excuse for teaching OH all about how to flatten clothes. ;-) It's metal, electric, can be dangerous - what man wouldn't be interested in that! Just thinking they should make irons that look like racing cars. They could make the covers look like roadways, you can just picture him going vrooom as he creases his trousers.
