Hi all
Am off to Sweden for a week from tomorrow morning, to judge........ MICE! Will have laptop with me but doubt I'll have time to look in on CD especially as it will be wth dial up only. So I'll "see" everyone again in just over a week!

Ooh, have fun! I started my breeding/showing career with mice, specialising in blue/creams. You get results very quickly with mice! :)

Oh really, interesting!!When I lived in Sweden I imported the very first Longhairs from the US that's my claim to fame LOL. Was quite into mice, hamsters, you name it. These days I just have 2 pet ones but this show is a memorial show held anually in memory of the founder who was my best friend who sadly died too young (47 in 1995) -also a dog trainer who taught me so much.

They must be quite a sight being run round the ring :)  Do they stack them?
- By Goldmali Date 23.08.06 19:59 UTC
LOL at Isabel! I can tell you one thing, there is no double handling going on! But the males tend to not be very well house trained.....

I used to have mice years ago when I lived at home. I started off with 2 but 'somehow' ended up with loads :P Everything was fine until 'someone' left the cage open and they all got out! Mum wasn't very pleased especially as we never found them all

Have fun Marianne :)

Have a squeeeeking :-D good time.  I had a lovely sandy coloured mouse as a child (my first dog) came with me everywhere, and I even took her for walks to the woods, she loved to sit on our rough collies and ride them like a horse. Ahhhhhh...... memories.  Enjoy your time away, whazrt a great excuse to go to lovely Sweden.

Hope you have a lovely time here, Marianne! Don't suppose you're judgeing anywhere near Malmö, are you? Would love to visit a mice-show  Used to have a pet mouse years ago, saved him from being spider food   He was given when very young as food to a big hairy spider, but bit it in the leg, scared it enough to be left alone, but was left in with the spider by it's owner. Until I came along :D) After some nagging the owner took it out for me to "pet", which of course was the same as "never on my life is it going back in there". I kept that mouse as a pet, he was ever so sweet, and very affectionate. Don't know much about mice, but I'm sure he knew I'd saved his life.

LOL at Husky Gal! You wished Marianne a safe journey, as in safe-where you put your money and jewellery........

I used to keep mice - great little things, mine would come when called

Have fun ...:)

Mice must be very trainable as I remember a few variety acts on the tele using performing ones before it was decided they could not possible enjoy that sort of thing :)
