Hi everyone.

I wanted to thank you all for your kindness.  Sadly we lost our baby yesterday.  He was in alot of pain all of Sunday night so we decided enough was enough so called the vet out first thing yesterday.  I won't go into detail but it was a horrible experience, one I wouldn't want to go through again.  We are absolutely devastated and can't believe he is gone.  We just have to remind ourselves we did the right thing and he is no longer suffering.  Our other GSD Tyler is wandering around the garden and house looking for him and doesn't know what to do with himself.

Thanks once again for your support, it really has helped more than you would know.

Best wishes.

Harley is at peace now Fiona - you've been so brave and both you and your OH deserved a happier outcome even though saying goodbye was inevitable.

Tyler will adapt more readily than you imagine and it's a blessing that you have him there as, in some small way, it will be a distraction going about your daily routines :(

I know all too weel that there are no words of true comfort but many thoughts, prayers and wishes of good intentions are winging their way to you and your family.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for all your messages.  Every single one has had me and Paul in tears.  We collected Harley's ashes yesterday and feel peace knowing he is back home where he belongs with us forever and in no pain.  This is so painful but we do get comfort reading all your messages so thanks once again to you all.

Lots of Love

Fiona, Paul and Tyler.   XXX

"......and feel peace knowing he is back home where he belongs with us forever and in no pain"

It's a bit of an odd feeling, but we couldn't rest until our little one was back with us - it felt better for us too to have her back with us.

I'm sorry for your loss Fiona, so many kind words have been said so i will just leave you with a poem

a tribute to a dog, Harley
The one abosolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world,
the one that never deserts him,
the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog,
A mans dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in helath and in sickness,
he will sleep on the cold ground where wintry winds blow and the snow drices fiercly, if only he may be near his masters side,
he will kiss the hand that has no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that cone in encounter with the roughtness of the world.  He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince.  when all other friends desert he remains, when riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey thru the heavens.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Fiona. I know what you are going through now. You did what was absolutely the best for Harley.
The empty space he has left, will in time be filled with loving memories of him.
Best Wishes,
Karen xxx
