I have a litter of puppies who are 1 week and 1/2 old, im just wondering what type of weight gain would you expect to see at this stage, ie double, triple etc ?  1 of the pups who was very tiny born has only doubled her weight, she is perfectly healthy nothing wrong with her at all feeds well etc she is just very small compared to the rest of the pups who have more than tripled their weight i do know that any weight gain is a good sign i was just wondering what is considered normal at this stage as her last litter of pups were nowhere near as big as these at this age even though the birth weights with both litters were pretty much the same

no personal experience but if it was me and i was in the situation you r  in,then as long as pup is feeding and is gaining weight & contented then i wouldnt worry  :) . ide just keep an eye on the little 1 & make sure hes getting enough milk,could you try putting him on the back teats wen they first wake up and keep an eye on him to make sure hes getting enough?
he might just be small but will catch up eventually :)

i agree with mini-meg , we have been lucky to only have one smaller one, we have been putting her on the back teats a time before the others move in, as long as there is weight gain then everything should be fine:)

luckily ive had no problem getting her to feed and she always on the back teats, she may be very small but she a tough little cookie and will knock the others out of the way to get at the teat she wants hopefully she will catch up im just so surprised at the amount of weight gain in the rest of the litter so quickly lol
