We were walking our dogs up to the park when we spotted a gsd in a van and the guy in it pulled along side and said are any of those a dog, so i said yes and his reply was do you want to mate him to my bitch, so i said no very quickly, some people that own dogs i cant believe it sometimes, didnt want to know what lines he was, how good the hips are, let alone weather his bitch was good/healthy enough to breed from just a quick way to make a bit of cash, no wonder we have so many unwanted dogs in this world.

That's absolutly crazy:o I had one of those today- not quite as bad but the lady next door to my Mum came out and was petting Kass saying how lovely etc blah de blah- are you breeding her and can we have a puppy- she's a longcoat her isn't she! When will you be breeding her- just after Christmas! So much for research eh:o (Considering she's a shortcoat and will only be 9/10 months old then)

unbelievable,i was contacted today by a multi-breed kennel owner and asked if i had a dog he could use on his bitch who was ready for mating,no inquiring as to which dog, just 'a dog',he then proceeded to say that the bitch wasn't hip-scored or eye tested but he was 'going to get her done' ! can you believe this ?in the end when i said no,he said well i can but her brother although thats a bit close,will he do it anyway if he is that desperate for pups to sell? this is a breeder that has a web site on here and tries to appear respectable,but under it all it appears he's not,no enquiries as to which dog had which lines or what the hip scores were like or anything just' a dog to use on my bitch' - disgusting.

I had actually missed your post Bill .....just caught up with it. This is appalling ...it is because of people like this that some breeds have ended up with terrible health problems
