im not having much luck with my dog and dog related situations, but shes stopped eating has not had anything for 2 dyas now. ive been putting her food down for ten minutes and then taking it up. it seems she is scared of her bowl-she is fed in the next room from the other 2 dogs, but one of them was guarding a toy from the other, coincedently, every time she went near her bowl and now she wont go near it, but shes not had her kongs either today.

Use a different bowl or even just a plate. :) Worth a try if she associates her bowl with unpleasantness.
thats why I thought putting all her food in a kong would help, instead of just some of it. shes always been a vacume since she was a pup, but then over the last few weeks, she's got slower and slower, and now is refusing to eat.

Has she been for a vet check????? It sounds possible there is a problem, teeth, throat, gums, sight, or generally unwell.
If it is nothing medical, could you not feed her by hand, take her somewhere quiet, I would be damned if I would let a dog not eat due to a bowl and my other dog food guarding, (If this is the case) Just put the food in your hand and feed her. :-)
she was at the vets on friday, to get some propalin for spay incontenance. and they did a check up on her. she just walked away when I had it in my hand. she wouldnt even take it and then spit it out. the reason that she is fed in the next room is because of his resource-mainly toys-guarding.
Have you only just started her on the propalin? I only ask because it has some some very wierd effects on a bitch I bred, two of her daughters and one granddaughter.
yes, i went 2 weeks ago for some and they did a urine test and found an infection, so shes been on antibiotics for 10 days and then i took her back on fri as they asked, and then she was put on propalin. but she did start to be picky about a month ago, having never been picky before. you would blink and miss her eating!
Maybe the infection affected her appetite?
just read the little leaflet in the propalin box and side effects include decrease in appetite, which explains her not eating once that was started, and probably the infection affected her appeptite, as already stated, before. because there were no visable signs of an infection apart from leaking urine.

If I have a dog that goes off it's food, I find they can't resist hot buttered toast with a little pate on it.
never tried that, I will have a go later, she did eat her food this morning, just very slowly-took the whole 10 minutes that I leave her bowl down for
