Just wanted to tell that since yesteday at Wales, the UK have its very first Malinois Champion -Jan Ralph's beautiful "Cougar" (Bonvivant Esprit.) There is now also a bitch with 2 tickets, Sabrefield Zent From Heaven, owned by Greg Richardson, so things are getting very exciting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed a LOT for "Trudy" as she is the litter sister of my Ripley. :D

Well done. :)

Oh I got so excited at the topic - thought maybe you had the first champ! :-D We'll cross all our fingers and paws for Trudy.

I wish LOL. My dog is out of action, bitch has only been to one champ.show (out of coat) due to having pups and pup isn't old enough yet. :) But we're all close in the breed and really are happy when anyone wins. :)

Yeah - Jan must be so pleased - she and Liz have kept the classes going throughout so many years when numbers were in single figures and are a last reaping the rewards - am I right in thinking that Yvonne Brason's irish boy has one ticket too ?.

Only hope that there is not a huge surge in popularity as this variety is truly a specialist dog and only for those prepared to put the work in !

Well done to all the Mal folk out there :D

There's 3 male dogs with one ticket each. :) First was Sioux Warrior (Lakota, dad of my little Rio -he has now taken a break from shows), next Yvonne Brason's Dudley yes (Revloch O'Riagain at Flambards), then we have Caroline Ross's Cesar (B. Cause Celbre at Tiggertoo).

Unless people import show dogs I doubt there will be a huge increase in popularity thankfully, as everyone is so careful with whom they sell to, it tends to be a case of one person being refused by one breeder means they are refused by all.

Having said that, next year should be interesting -there's been 3 show litters born this year with more than 10 new pups about to enter the ring! (I.e. those with owners that want to show.)
