Bless little Shaun - the young lad who was 'too fragile and too nervous' according to Simon. I loved him! Had tingles all over!!

Glad hes through!!!

I thought he actually had a nice voice, hope he can lose the nerves for Bootcamp.  Bless him, he was shaking all over.

Yeah, he had a lovely voice, I too hope that he can lose his nerves.

I know that the young lad from Manchester has got through this year who missed out at the end last year.  He had a brilliant voice so hope he does really well in 2006!

Hi

I felt like a over protective mother watching him. He had a lovely voice but Simon was right to nervous and fragile they should of given him lots of encouragment and told him to come back next year. I wish they would make the minimum age 18 instead of 16. These young boys especially cannot cope.

Look forward to seeing the youngster from last year there was two if I remember correctly,. They got through but Louise wouldnt take them to the live finals because they were to young. I agreed with him then.

I do hope the young boy this year can get something out of this

Gosh I cried over Sean too   Good job I was on my own :D :D

I really thought it would have been better if they'd arranged for him to attend next year but now he's in I hope he can gain some confidence.  Hope Sharon or Louis gets to work with him :)

Bless him, i cried too.

Shaun has a really good voice, i just hope he makes it to boot camp :) And then on to the live show.

Trevor from last year also came back, we get to see him next week :) I thought he had a fantastic voice last year but louis thought he wasn't confident enough :( I hope he gets through this year :)

What happened to Gareth - the ex choirboy with a stutter who was up against the lovely Will Young in Pop Idol?  He was very good, but young.....?

It says in the current Radio Times that Gareth Gates was one of the many flops and has been dropped by his record label (Simon Cowell) this year -he did so well to start with then dropped out of sight, and the episode with Jordan didn't exactly help.

Aww bless ... did she take him under her .... coughcough "wings"??   Before or after Peter?
- By Goldmali Date 20.08.06 15:08 UTC
Well GG said to the papers she HAD, she denied it, he repeated it, she denied it, then it went on like that for absolute ages until she said oh okay it did happen. Seem to remember it was before Peter!!

That's enough to ruin a guy for life ... poor little mite, imagine starting your 'career' with her - bless!

I thought it was the other way round? She was caught coming out his hotel room (allegedly the paparazzi were tipped off) and he denied it until eventually he had to admit it. I believe she was pregnant at the time aswell... nice :)

Ah yes, you are right! My mistake LOL!

Hi

The story I heard was he was getting to big for his boots, demanding to do songs that were to big for him. Partying everynight and not keeping up with his stuttering coaching. He could never do interviews because of the stutter so wasnt able to promote himself very well.

He was really nasty about Jordon saying he wouldnt touch her with a barge pole making her out to be a lier(sp) when it was him all the time. She was preggy but single at the time. This was long before Peter

All this didnt go with the image the record company wanted for him and his records stopped selling.

He is now trained and working as a stutter coach is that the right way of saying it.

I think what killed it for Gareth was that he was a phoney and the public 'sussed' him out!  He was a bit of a 'one trick pony' too, I think!
- By Carla Date 20.08.06 20:34 UTC
And the fact that he was rubbish :D

Will Young on the other hand - I love him!! :D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 20.08.06 20:35 UTC
He's not your type, Chloe. ;)
- By Carla Date 20.08.06 20:45 UTC
:D No, quite!
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 20.08.06 20:57 UTC
He may not be our type but boy, he still is cute :d  Will that is not whathisname !

I think the thing is that some people just arent good enough to make it, they make the public feel sorry for them but when they are out on their own out of x factor or pop idol they just dont grab the public attention. Will/ Liberty x/ Girls aloud (to some extent) have all made good music which has appealed to the public. Gareth could only do slow songs, Hearsay fell apart because they were all so greedy Michelle Mcmanus became self absorbed!
