Just had my first customer that wasn't a friend, I handstripped her Border terrier. He was very good, you would never have thought he'd not been to a groomer before (only 11 months). He wasn't too keen on having his mustache made into the 'doughnut shape' but as he had so little hair round there I didn't push it - I guess that will grow as he gets older? My question is how often do you have them round for stripping? I'm going to ask my college too of course, but as it's holidays I'm not up there every week, and I want to be able to give the owner an answer! She seemed very pleased with my efforts anyway. :-)

I hand stripped every 8 weeks, taking out about 20% of the coat each time.  That way the dog always looks tidy, never like a lavatory brush one minute and then bald the next! ;)

i find its very hard to do pet borders anything other than 6 monthly. the show ones are easier as i do them a bit every week.
