My Border Collie bitch has just had her first season, ending last week.  Her nipples are left slightly larger with what looks like slight swelling round them.  All of them are like this, she does not appear to be in any pain or uncomfortable.  Is this normal or should I be worried ?

Hi Hopie, your bitch has reached sexual maturity and her body has changed, much like a human being does at puberty. There will still be the remnants of increased hormones yet, and the size of her nipples and vulva will settle a little more. Both will remain noticably larger than they were pre-season. Also she may go on to have some degree of phantom pregnancy, it's very very common. :)
