Hi - I would be grateful for any advice on behalf of a friend's 3 year old bitch. I wonder if anyone has experienced a dog having anaemia (low red cell and white cell counts) due to the bone marrow not functioning properly? The vet has prescribed a kind of 'tonic' containing iron ( not sure what else is in it) as an initial treatment - he says to see if that will 'kickstart' the bone marrow into working again. Is it possible that this condition could resolve and isn't anything serious? Thanks for any suggestions ... :)
