Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Is Darlington a good show?
- By Lori Date 07.08.06 13:25 UTC
I don't show but want to go and check out some dogs as part of my search for new girl to add to my family. I know Darlington is coming up in September and since I'm near Newcastle that's about as close as they get to me. Is it a pretty good show for seeing dogs from several breeders? Leos and Spinones in case that makes a difference.

Darlington is a large show with usually good entries of most breeds (don't now about the ones youre interested in, figures have not been released yet) but it is held in Ripon, North Yorkshire now. :)

Hi Lori,
going by last years' results, the leo classes were not very big, more in the spinone classes. Haven't seen the entries for this year yet :)

Idon't think that there are many Leo's full stop at any shows!

I love Darlington, mainly because it's one of two shows where gundogs and toys are on the same day :d

There were around 150 Leos at Birmingham this year - as far as I know they draw fairly hefty numbers (certainly at the midland based shows :) )

I can remember a time when my breed used to do the same :(
