Topic Dog Boards / General / cost of a poodle?
- By Star [gb] Date 20.08.02 13:00 UTC
You may recall that we lost our poodle a couple of weeks ago. I have been speaking to insurance and one of the questions they are asking is how much do they cost currently. (not what we bought her for). Insurers are a pain. As we are not involved with 'poodle people' now I am unsure. can anyone help.
thanks

Star if someone on here could not help I would dig out a show book and try calling one of the breeders in there. If you explain the situation they may help. Hope so anyway.

Sorry you have to do this.#

Actually they are being quite asking what the going rate is for a puppy, as it is likely to be more than ylu paid for your dog, with time having gone buy. I hasven't heard of any Insurance company offering the price of a new pup :D

Hi Brainless

My petplan policy does this

I thought it was your original purchase price, and not what pups are now!

That sounds very low price for a decently bred Standard???

Hi

My parents have a litter of standards at the moment
they are in the region if £450 now for a well bred poodle.

Maybe the cost has gone up due to the current crufts champion? I do not have poodles but have seen adverts quite recently for £250. I have know idea if well bred or not.

Most medium and large breeds are an average of £350 to £500 in price, with unregistered ones sometimes about half price, though in some breeds nearly the registered price!

Here in Scotland the current rate for a well bred Toy Poodle is £350 - £450 hope this helps

Hi checked with Petplan and they cover either the cost or the current market value.

Theresa :)
