Just wondering if you think a bitch ovulates on the same day of each season.  Did anyone who has had more than one litter form a bitch, and who uses pre mate tests, did you pre mate test each season or just go off the previous seasons results?  My bitch was pre mate tested on her last season, on day 9 and 11, it said she hadn't ovulated and to go back in 2 days,  because of this on this season my vet doesn't think I need to test her until day 12 or 13.  What are your thoughts?  I made lots of wrong decisions last time, didn't go back for further tests and used a first time stud on my first time bitch and the stud owner wouldn't let me hold my girl and we didn't get a mating.  I'd like to try and get it right this time!
Thanks Sam

I mated using the same days as the first time, and the bitch missed. Next time I tested.

No, it's been written about for years that they don't; that ovulation occurs at different times from bitch to bitch, and from season to season in the same bitch. One of my bitches had her first litter after a single mating on day 13. Her second litter was after two matings on days 18 and 20.

I'm planning on taking my Bitch to Holland, she's due to come in around the last week of september. Can anyone recommend a good ovulation tester to use on her.
Obviously if i'm going to travel from Ireland to Rotterdam i want to make sure that i'm mating her at the right time.
Look forward to your replies.

We used the pre-mate test, Saturday morning ,day 16 it said she'd ovulated and go for a mating in the next 24-48 hours .  Also if you look on the thread a few days ago 'matel ovulation tester', we thought we would give that a go, but only used my daughters cheap microscope.  It was amazing, big bubbles until day 12, breaking up day 13 and 14, no bubbles just looks like frost days 15 to 17(frost or ferns means ovulation!).  So this afternoon went for the mating, got a tie straight away.  We didn't get a mating when we tried on her last season, so now I'm just very, very excited!
