Last night we packed up the car to go on our 2 week camping trip to the Lakes.  The week had been abit stressful due to the fact that the car had not been well but the garage kept it for a week and said that they had fixed the leak (the car is an old Rover and not worth spending too much on).

Well to cut a long story short we left at about 2 am with two kids and the dog in the back only to get 10 miles down the road and for the engine to overheat   Two really upset children in the back crying.  Anyway we managed to get home and this morning we have bought a second hand volvo which should be with us in an hour or so.  The Rover was not worth fixing.

Whilst all this is going on my crown falls out!!!!! It is right in the front of my mouth so I can't smile without looking dreadful

I am really really fed up.   On top of all this my dad has been really really ill in Austria and nearly died but luckily he is on the mend.

Sorry about the moan but I had to tell someone

 Poor you...sometimes life is just like that! Have you been able to get a temporary repair kit from the chemist, they do them for crowns and fillings...As I know only too well>

Ooh thanks for that.  I will have a look for one.  My tongue is so sore as it keeps going over the whole :)

Oh dear :(

What a nightmare

Try and think on the positive side :)

Your Dad is on the mend , you have a new car on the way and you can get a new crown when you get back of holiday so go and enjoy your time away. Just remember when the camera comes out not too many cheesey grins ;) :D :D

Have a lovely holiday and hope the weather is good for you !

Chin up Flower

Deep breath and enjoy your holiday - the kids will soon be happy again and forget about it - remember everyone is worse when tired!

Hi Melissa,

rotten luck you've had with the car & crown and so sorry to hear about your dad being very ill :(

Things are on the up now, right ;)  You've got your new wheels and I see someone's advised how go about fixing your dazzling smile and, best of all, your dad's on the mend :) :) :)

When you've got yourself re-packed and organised have a whale of a time on your hols and don't let anything put a dampener on things - so shoulders back, chest out, bum in (could you flick your hair a little here) and say CHEESE :P

Unfortunately this is one of the problems with old rovers (21* series) the head gasket eventually deteriorates, or the radiator goes and they get overheated, and the heads warp meaning that you either need to have the head resurfaced and a new head gasket or a new engine   We're on our 3rd engine (second-hand ones ;) ) as the car itself is in really good nick and I really love driving it.  We have the last engine in storage tho as it was only a valve that went but quite expensive to fix, but if this engine overheats or the head gasket goes we'll put a valve from this into the old one and be good to go :D :D  Our pet mechanic does it really cheaply as he loves the old car too :)

Don't know what I'll do when she has to go to the car park in the sky........ :(

So sorry about the bad time you're having, hope your dad gets better real quick and your smile gets fixed soon.  Before long this will be an entertaining story you tell at dinner hopefully ;)

As for the crown......................
Have you tried Fixodent??????
I stick my veneer back on with fixodent when it comes off. The dentist now suggests it to others!!!
My veneers that pop off about once a year are the front ones and fixodent(the stuff you stick false teeth on ith Works!!!!!
I can last (I hate it but it does look better) several days with my veneer stuick on with it. I just make sure I dont eat with the front teeth.
I cannot go out the house without my venners fixed.
Try it, believe me it works :)
Hope you get your holiday :) :)
Lea :)
