ok i am  nervous now that i am not giving my dogs what they need. Is there anyone i could PM their weekly menu to see if it is ok.

I agree Ktee that the vets that are wary of it are so perhaps because they see the results of doing it badly. I agree with JG too that the idea that they do it because they like ill animals is obviously a non starter :rolleyes:
I think if you read what this particular vet said, though, I don't think they were particularly knocking BARF just saying that if your dog is so fit and healthy, and we are talking about dogs that the poster has said have some feeding difficulties, and commercial foods are so carefully formulated by qualified people why risk the possibility of messing that up?  If commercial food was failing these particular dogs he might have said something different.

When you see the numbers of people around who, after years of school education in biology (and sometimes cookery), can't manage to feed themselves and their families a sensible diet to keep themselves healthy, it's no wonder vets feel it's much safer for the animals to recommend a balanced complete food. Feeding a correct balanced diet (for human or animal) is time-consuming which is why so many ready-meals are sold!
