could some one please help me re; the lenghth of season for a staff bitch .
my bitch has just started her first season (started bleeding today)
i have consulted my books and they give conflicting info . does she bleed for between 11 to 14 days but remains in season for up to 25 days ?
when is it safe to start walking her or let her near other dogs , help much appreciated. viki.

With most dogs, by the time you see the blood she's already been in for a week and you will have about another 3 weeks to go. As far as walking is concerned, There are quite a few dogs in my neighbourhood so I would never walk mine from the house. I slip them in the back of the car, take them down the road a piece then walk them ON THE LEAD from there. That way the scent trail back to the house is broken.
