HI guest

Have you tried rewarding him for good behaviour, so that he knows he is "good" when he has 4 paws on the ground?

Make sure all visitors totally ignoere him - that means voice, eye contact, even talking about him, as a dog will know by the tone of voice that his jumpoing up is being discussed <g>

Only when he is calm quietly reward him, try a very extra tasty titbit such as a piece of sausage or chicken. If he gets excited as soon as you pay him attention, turn away calmly. When he is calmer, then again quietly reward. Never ever let passers by fuss him unless he has 4 feet on floor.

If this still shows no results after a time, put him behid a child gate until he is calm, and then ignoer him when he is let out (calmly) and only fuss when he is calm too:)

A good training class will do a "Sit to Greet" exercise which is invaluable for this sort of lad :)

Stick to one method and keep on, dont give up,someitimes training can take a bit of time.

Lastly don't forget to reward good behaviour, and how about buying a good book, try "The Perfect Puppy" by Gwen Bailey, very good and helpful and goes into adolescence and beyond.

Hth a bit
