Does anyone know of any good whitening shampoos? My black and white springer tends to get very dirty and his white bits have turned a shade of grey that doesn't seem to shift with ordinary shampoo.

Try Hilton Herbs Ocean Blue shampoo, it's meant for horses but it's fine for dogs to use.

Or a horse shampoo called Diamond White - it smells brill and gets my greys clean :D

I use Wahl Showman Diamond White on my Cavalier's white bits, as he wees himself.

I can confirm that as my friend uses it so that her Elkhounds are grey rather than the pink they get from her local soil.

I've had great results with Schwarzkopf Touch of Silver Shampoo, saw it in my local chemists many years ago and tried it. Never bought anything else since :)

I use the Groomers Blue Pearl for the 'white bits' on mine, find it very good.

Edited to add, have converted my brother too it for his b&w moggie too, used to bug him that poor puss never looked clean but he sparkles now.

Thanks M
This might work on my Boxers white socks :)

I have shown white poodles for nearly 30 years and have always used vetzyme JDS shampoo with a tiny bit of fairy liquid (it must be the original fairy) mixed in.  Must have tried just about every 'white' shampoo there is but nothing brings them up like the JDS mixture.  It does dry the coat slightly so I only use it for show baths not a maintenance bath.

Any  ideas for removing rust patches under the neck. I thought Harley was changing colour but now realise it is the ring that holds his ID tag on. Have swapped it for a different ring but the mark is still there despite him being a water baby in and out of any water he can find :)

my springer is pearly white, only through swimming in the river and lakes, they're not bathed that often but when i do bath them i use a Dark dog shampoo from the vets cant remember what its called, it makes the coat so white and shiney you can see your fsce in it :)

I use Chris Christensen white on white for my black & white cocker, and I also use a watered down Original Fairy Liquid mixture, brings her back lovely and white.

We use Plush puppy whitening shampoo. Its herbal and needs diluting 1 part to 10 parts water, so lasts for ages. We have a bichon frise and keeps him looking clean.

Thanks for the tip about the touch of silver shampoo chaumsong, it really brings the TT's bib up a treat.  The Beardies look great on Plush Puppy herbal whitening.  Different coats different solutions.
