I know we have all been waiting for nice sunny days, but to be honest I can not stand it so hot all of my routine has changed dog walking ect and I am fed up of feelinghot and sticky as I sure the dogs are.My neighbours are sun worshippers, wish I was.

Too warm for me at the minute.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 25.07.06 13:55 UTC
I'm with you me and the dogs hate it.  roll on 9pm when I can leave the house again.
- By Isabel Date 25.07.06 13:59 UTC
Love it :cool::cool::cool:
It won't last forever, in fact it won't last that long :( and we will be back in a dank, wet English winter again so let it roll!!!!!!!!!!! :p
- By Carla Date 25.07.06 14:45 UTC
Dank, wet, English winter - wow - do you really promise? :D :D :D Can't wait
- By rachelsetters Date 25.07.06 16:25 UTC
LOVING IT LOVING IT LOVING IT

Yes it has been sticky, yes it is warmer than used to but having cleared the garden (having moved in 3 weeks ago? - is it 3 or 4!) and dog proofed (well almost as English setter proved we hadn't! ;) ) we were able to sit outside and enjoy a really pleasant evening last night with dogs and kids enjoying it too.

We walk very early then they have a mad run round play in the garden once the sun has gone round.

Paddling pool out and parasols everywhere - plenty of shade with the apple trees and bushes - I love my new garden!
- By Lori Date 25.07.06 14:07 UTC
Love it! love it! love it! It's almost like being back in California again. :-D
except I'm NOT jumping in the North Sea thank you very much
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 25.07.06 14:10 UTC
I'm seriously considering moving - to the north pole  ;)

I hate this heat. Last night I was still awake at 4 o'clock :( Just couldn't sleep.
- By Lori Date 25.07.06 14:16 UTC
So time for confessions - who's stealing their dogs cooling mats to sleep on at night. :-D
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 25.07.06 14:17 UTC
Not for me, I haven't slept properly for ages. Oh to be chilly and snuggle up under a duvet. :D

I really, really hate it - I'm not a summer person and never have been, I love spring, autumn and winter. Give me rain, brisk winds, parky mornings rather than this dreadful boiling pot of weather we are being subjected to at the moment!! :D

I love the sun but prefer it in the morning and evening, from about 10am to 8pm I'm like a wilting flower without any rain...!!!!! and feel so hot and uncomfortable. I shower about 3 times a day at the moment and am still too hot

I love frosty mornings, snow, wind, hail :) I love to cuddle up at night and shiver, and have a roaring open fire with the Danes flat out in front. I love riding in the snow and Christmas and the smell of haylege and warm horse under their rugs. Most of all I love eating loads and then hiding under thick warm clothing LOL
- By Isabel Date 25.07.06 14:52 UTC
I love those too.  One of the things I love about this country is the fact that we have all these seasons and I enjoy each and every one in turn :)
- By Ory [si] Date 25.07.06 16:45 UTC
The one thing I miss in UK is our Slovenian winters  ..... loads and loads of snow and people skiing every weekend!!
But over all, I LOVE summer time and I like it HOT!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 26.07.06 09:43 UTC
Ah but we Can get all those seasons in one day
- By Lea Date 25.07.06 14:49 UTC
I hate it when it goes above 25 degrees.
Today I drank 2 litres of water in 5 hours, Plus coffee as well.
I work outside ALL day andwear as little as possible for work, where my hair up and a cap.
I end up sopping wet from the pesperation and its exhausting working out in it.
We hunt out shade to stand in to have a 2 minute break!!!!!!
When I get home I stay well and truely out of the garden!!!!
Lea :)
- By Missie Date 25.07.06 14:58 UTC
Absolutely hate it :( Uncomfortably hot, sweaty heat. Hate it :(
The dogs hate it :(

I was outside till 10.30 last night cos it was just too hot in here. Can't sleep for it.

I'm with Chloe, bring on the cold crisp fresh mornings, maybe a little sun during the day but not too hot, cooler in the evenings so you can relax, get comfy and, best of all, curl up in your duvet :)
- By Goldmali Date 25.07.06 14:57 UTC
Hate it, it should be made illegal.
(Yeah I'm grumpy!!)
- By Boxacrazy [in] Date 25.07.06 16:20 UTC
I hate it far too hot!

Yes I like sunny and warm but not too hot!
This is ridiculous - not pleasant at all trying to work in an office without aircon.
Not at all pleasant for the dogs...

I can't wait for it to cool down to 20 degrees!!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 25.07.06 16:40 UTC
Yep 20 degrees is about my comfort zone with a light breeze and clear blue skies.
- By Minny_Minsk [gb] Date 25.07.06 16:57 UTC
I'm fed up with it already.

I'm stuck in the house with a 2 year old most of the time as it is far too hot for her to play outside.
My poor Ridgeback has decided he'd rather have been born as a Husky; he was never designed to live in hot England let alone the African plains!
I can't ride as the only time I can fit it in is the evening, and it's far to hot for poor Tiny let alone me!

BRING BACK SLIGHTLY WARM ENGLISH SUMMERS.......
- By ChristineW Date 25.07.06 17:35 UTC
I hate winter, I hate being cold, I hate wet shivering dogs, I hate having to keep my clothes indoors to have to dry them & then they take ages, I hate short daylight hours, I hate snow, I hate slipping on ice and nearly busting my legs, I hate driving on treacherous roads...........

so this is absolutely fantastic & long may it last!
- By sandrah Date 25.07.06 17:43 UTC
I'm with you Christine.  No muddy dogs, no endless rainy days.

Long live Summer :)
- By Daisy [gb] Date 25.07.06 17:48 UTC
Too hot for me, I am afraid :( If it didn't go above 25c, then I'd be happy, but 33c every day for weeks is just too much :( It's alright if you have servants to do housework, garden, iron etc etc - but I don't :D :D :D

Daisy
- By rachelsetters Date 25.07.06 17:51 UTC
Forgot the no muddy dogs and constant floor mopping!  This summer forever!
- By Carrington Date 25.07.06 17:52 UTC
Nope, can't bare it!!! :-(

I wait all Winter for the Summer, it comes along and....... this Summer is just not nice I am sweating like a pig and going through 4 outfit changes a day, (and I never usually sweat *yuk*) I usually enjoy sitting outside on the decking drinking and eating in this weather, but have prefered to eat inside instead, I was told by hubby that our Summers will continue to be like this now, I told him I am moving to Iceland. And I'm sure all our pooches would like to come with me. :-D
- By leomad Date 25.07.06 18:13 UTC
I have to admit this weather is even slowing me down :eek::eek: Im off to  the pool with a bottle of Bud...:) :)
- By ChristineW Date 25.07.06 18:47 UTC
See all you lot down South don't get proper Winters like we do up North!  ;)   Icicles hanging off your imaginables etc.  so you relish this lurvly warmth.
- By Daisy [gb] Date 25.07.06 18:54 UTC
But cold weather I can put more clothes on. Can't take any more clothes off this hot weather or I'd get arrested :D :D

Daisy
- By ShaynLola Date 25.07.06 19:08 UTC
I actually don't mind the hot weather...except when I'm in work with no air con and wishing I was at home in the garden :(

I would like it to cool down though fo rthe sake of my poor Newf. Her cool bed isn't even cool enough in this heat and she has taken to lying in the bath and whining until someone comes to her aid and puts a couple of inches of cold water in it for her and then she'll wallow for ages  I've even caught her trying to turn the tap on but she can't quite manage it...YET

It could be worse...my friend moved to Turkey a couple of years ago. She e-mailed me today to say the tempertures there are 50 degrees plus
- By Carla Date 26.07.06 09:09 UTC
If I took any more clothes off rescue folk would start throwing water on me and dragging me back into the sea  :D
- By HuskyGal Date 26.07.06 09:50 UTC
I want it to cool down...so I can get warmer!!!!!!
OH has Air con on full pelt, dogs Love it..but Im sitting here in a fleece and a dog curled on my lap to keep my legs warm!!!!
Bring back winter!!!! :D
- By Missie Date 26.07.06 09:55 UTC
Lets do a house swop then cos its flippin boiling in here! Fans on full blast, airs too warm :(
- By Sullysmum Date 26.07.06 11:51 UTC
I dont like it hot like it is at the moment but i dont like being cold either as i have bad circulation in the cold weather.....my favourite is a nice breezy day but with a warm/cool wind blowing.
- By jakesmum [gb] Date 26.07.06 17:17 UTC
I hate it. I say bring on the snow :). It is just far to hot here in Sunny suffolk.
- By justlou Date 26.07.06 17:22 UTC
I want it to cool down :) I am so hot all the time, i'm fed up of this heat now :( I was awake all last night because of the heat, the fan is blowing out hot air :( And it looks like i may be up all night again, cause i can't sleep when it's so hot :(

Roll on winter :)
- By Harley Date 26.07.06 17:34 UTC
In the early part of the year I did an 8 day charity trek in the Sahara and by 10am the temperatures had reached 103 and rose steadily til noon and beyond.  We walked in long trousers , longsleeved shirts, thick socks and boots for between 8 and 10  hours a day.

And that was easy compared to the sort of weather we are having here at the moment. There it was hot but it was a dry heat very different to the humid sticky weather we are experiencing here. I find it hot just walking out into the garden and there is no way I could possibly walk for an hour let alone all day!

I love the summer and look forward to it but the humidity  is just too much for man and beast.
- By LJS Date 26.07.06 18:20 UTC
Too hot and humid and tempers are flaring :rolleyes: {{{{Screams from upstairs whilst Mike tries to bath Indigo after she has just sneaked up to our bedroom and helped herself to some lovely bright pink nail varnish :eek: All over our bed and her :D :D }}}}

Little terror

Never let a nearly three year old go quiet as it means trouble :p :p
- By justlou Date 26.07.06 18:52 UTC
LOL Lucy :D

Never let a 7 year old go quiet  She writes on my walls LOL :D
- By LJS Date 26.07.06 18:55 UTC
MMMMmmmm the little madam has just gone to bed after screaming habdabs

She is useless in this weather

Might try the hose the next time it happens  :D
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 26.07.06 19:31 UTC
Actually the hose is wonderful in hot weather!   As a child, I remember getting into cossies when my Dad was watering the garden & dancing around in the hose - its one of my "golden moments".   I remember the heat, the smell of the garden, and the cold of the hose water!

Actually, I do still like the heat .....I'm trying to "catch" just how hot I feel, so that I can remember in the winter, when it is cold and drear, no sun, no wind, just sulky drizzle, that yes, we did have a hot hot hot summer - 'cos sure as eggs is eggs, it will be dreary - not nice "bracing" cold - just damp drizzly drear - soon enough.

Although I would prefer my garden to look less like the plains of the Masai Mara......cats have got "big cat" pretensions at the moment ....peering down from branches of trees, looking out through long (uncut) grasses.....dogs are digging cool holes (actually, someone is digging perilously close to Purdey ) under trees - but heigh ho - soon enough it will be piddling down again!

Our seasons last just long enough...... ;)

Margot

Oh so true Margot

Bless Purdey bet she is saying 'Blimey you lot just b*gger off ' :D :D

We are on rescue mission now  Only essentials (veggies and plants that cost a packet that we are watering)

So long as we get a big freezer full of veggies then we will be happy

Had thunderstorm last night :)
much, much cooler today :)

- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 27.07.06 09:51 UTC
Am thrilled to hear on the news today that they are expecting an even hotter spell in early August. Think I need to move to somewhere cooler.

Time to go and buy my dogs a paddling pool while there are still some available, methinks. (Might end up sleeping in it myself, bah humbug!)
