My poor baby has has an upset tummy for about a week now (diarrhea). She is still eating well, and is happy in her self it's just the nasty bum. I don't think she is getting any new teeth.
Any one got any idea what to do to stop it? I'm changing a dirty nappy every few hours

A week is long enough to have a runny bum.  I'd book a trip to the docs. For the sore bot, try metanium (sp?), it is a brilliant barrier cream that stops urine burning the skin and gives it a chance to heal. 

The usual treatment should be much the same as for a dog - nothing to eat for a day :) As Cheryl has said, as it's gone on this long a trip to the doctor's is probably the way to go :)

Don't feed her for 24 hours and try and get her to have some dioralyte, it doesn't taste very nice so add it to some squash :)

Emily at 16 months had an upset tummy, dire rear and sickness, for nearly two weeks. Daughter couldn't get passed the nurse to see the doctor. Nothing prescribed. In the end I got fed up and demanded to see the doctor, bearing in mind everything she ate went straight through her and she then stopped eating altogether. All he said was to give diaoralyte (sp) and nothing but, for 48 hours and calpol if needed. It was passed off as some 'virus' going round. Anyway it worked :)
I do hope your baby gets well soon, its not very nice for them - nor us :) Just make sure they don't get dehydrated as can so often happen when they have the runs :)

i have a recipe from NHS direct when we were all ill with diarhoea  1 litre of water   8 teaspoons of sugar and 1/2 level teaspoon of salt! this makes up the same solution as what you would get in a diarolyte sachet and tastes better when mixed with squash. I would starve for 24 hours at least and then start on a plain biscuit or cracker if she will eat it gradually introducing more diet back. I hope that you get this sorted out as in this heat she will dehydrate very quickly!
if you can get the dr to prescribe conotrane cream for the bottom it is a miracle cream i use it everytime (perks of my job ;-) )

I agree with the starving for 24 hours but when my 4 were little they wouldnt touch dioralyte, so my doctor told me to buy 7up and just to make it flat and give them that to drink instead.  As for sore bums...thovalene worked every time (not sure if you can still get it now tho!!)

Thank you all, She seems to be better today no yucky nappies. So fingers crossed she is on the mend.

I was told by my doctor when my lads had the same a couple of years ago that for a persistant runny bum, try stopping milk and dairy for a day or two. Apparently the lactose can prolong diarrhoea so keeping off milk will help their tummies return to normal then you can gradually reintroduce the milk again. It worked for my sons and we do this now whenever they are poorly. Hope she is better now anyway!

There is some nasty bug out there at present in this heat they breed like mad.
I have a spay with water and bleach in and use it to wipe down everythink all the time. I hope it helps a little. One of my girls when they were little had the runs for a week, she was I think about 20months old.
I took her to the doctors a couple of times, worried as I had never ever had this before with my other children. He told me, The virus  would have to run its course, some do.
Have you tryed starving for a full 24hrs with loads of drink especially this weather?
Just boiled water out of the fridge. If that doesn't work Doctors!!
The bottom wash with soap and water every nappy change, then vasaline, or Sudocem.
That should work.
