Our 5 month old is teething and gets very feverish at times: hot ears & mouth, and very irritable, sometimes with a slight upset tum. Poor thing must get quite uncomfortable, and usually after a couple of days of this, we find a large tooth somewhere.
She always has plenty of chews, cold cloths and ice cubes etc.
The vet looked today and says there are still a fair number to come out, and I'm wondering if there are any remedies that would help her through these feverish patches.

you can give a puppy bonjella,or wet a tea towel ring it out and put it in the freezer till its gone hard then give to puppy :)
Hope this helps, ive been lucky ebonys 5/6mths old now and hasnt had any problems with the teething .
Better than bonjella is a liquid called Anbesol. It's easier to apply and more effective as it soaks into the gums rather than slides all over them! I also give Earl cold carrotts from the fridge; he chews them up (tends not to eat much at all), but I quite often find a tooth in with all the shredded bits of carrott.....

I put carrots in the freezer with my last teething pup - she loved them :D
Also Large juicy knuckle bones will help to get those teeth out :D :D - supervised of course :D :D
Emz - I think that sounds the sort of thing I'm wanting ..is this something for the feverishness & pain ? Must go and look them up.
I asked the vet while we were there this morning, but he said it's not necessary to give dogs teething meds. We've never had a dog have such trouble & discomfort with teething before, so perhaps he wasn't aware how much it gets to her. We thought she kept getting really hyper naughty spells, but have noticed this past few weeks that each time she has a few 'bad' days, a tooth falls out! She then calms down - until another is either loose or coming through!
Anbesol or Bonjela - yes, I'll get some! Could help - as long as I can tell which bit of her mouth it is that's hurting!
She does like having something cold to chew - I tried carrots a couple of months ago as an alternative to treats - she wasn't too interested, but I'll try some again and pop them in the freezer!
I started giving her round flat ice cubes made in the bottom of those little plastic pots that fruit jelly desert comes in during the last hot spell, and she loves them - can't understand why they're not there after she's been for a wander about though! :)
Thanks everyone!

Is that the same Anbesol used for human babies teething? If so, I have tried it myself for cancor sores on my tongue and it BURNS when first applied. I am amazed such a product is used on babies. Maybe it's just because I already have an open sore though. It works, but not for very long, but again, maybe teething and cancor sores are different.
anbesol is like the adult version of bonjella, and is stronger i might be wrong tho.
with the bonjela you can buy a baby bonjella and a normal 1, my sons 20mths old and i use the normal 1 as the baby 1 didnt rearly wrk.he dusnt seem to mind it, and quite likes it :)
