Don't know whether anyone's going to this show but I've had an e-mail re. weather warning. We are on a warning 2 today but for tomorrow and Wednesday it will be a 3.
I know that quite a few people won't be going to this show now due to the heat, but anyone who is needs to take precautions that there dogs are not only cooled down etc. whilst at the show but on the way to the show too.
It looks like it's going to be hot, hot, hot, let's hope that no dogs are left in cars again, if they are I think that windows should be smashed and no warnings given to the owners!!

I'm entered for tomorrow but having boubts about it now cause of the heat.
Fingers crossed about the dogs in cars, there really is no need for it. I agree with what you say about car windows being smashed, after all a dog could die in the time it takes them to put a call out then wait on them returning to there car.
Good luck to those going.

I'm going with my OES on Thursday, just checked the forecast and it's for rain and thunder! At least my boy won't overheat. Good luck to everyone who's showing this week.

Think we are still going but taking water and towles and keeping dogs wet. they will be wet in the ring if it keeps them cooler :)

We are still going i think but with 5 dogs its going to a long day, we will be taking supplies, i even took a bottle of water to the ring with lottie and bruce at Windsor and pored water in there mouth that they then drank and quickly picked this up and liked it.
for people planning on chucking loads of water all over there dogs it has been pointed out to me that this actually heats them up as the sun heats the water up on the coat so please be careful, :) a little big dosent harm though.
Have a good day
Fiona

We Crufts qualified with a second in Graduate. To be honest had I realised how hot it was going to be, would not have gone, even the benching sheds were too hot. I felt rotton, seeing my doggy so hot. After the ring we doused in him cold water and then he went on his cool pad in his crate and went straight home, did not see rest of breed judging. My advice is go only if you know how to cool your dog properly. Even though judging under cover, still unbearably hot!!

Danny 2nd in grad isnt a qualifing class.:(
Post grad is,so fingers crossed it was a mistake not putting the post in front of it
I hope so too. A friend of mine was all excited with a 1st in Graduate but had to inform her it wasn't a qualifier. Such a shame. Thankfully they qualified at the next show with a place in Yearling which in our band is a qualifier.
Hoping to go Thursday as it will be my last show for a while as pulling out to let the youngster grow up (hopefully mentally as well) but not sure in this heat. Thankfully in an early class so will head home straight after. Doesn't look like the thunderstorms are going to come in time. :(

I was there yesturday and it was rather hot, in the morning the bench areas weren't too bad but it did get alot warmer later on. Been under cover was really good but still very hot, after my classes I covered Folly with water and put her wet towel jacket on which really helped to keep her cool. Despite the heat I had a really good day with a 5th in Puppy & 5th in Junior so very pleased. :)

Isn't Grad a qualifying class for stund band E breeds and I believe Danny has rotties which are Stud E :)
I went today and we got 1st Limit and RBB and 1st open bitch. Highlight of the day was I won YKC handling 17-25 years so qualified for that part of Crufts :D :D :D

No Graduate isnt a qualifying class for stud band e breeds the only extra class is Yearling

ahhh right :D thats me put right!!! :D ;)

OOOps did i sound harsh

Didnt mean to :D

I didn't take it as harsh! don't worry!!!! :D
