Hi could anybody help me?
I mated my bitch on day 14 & 16 of her season, usually she stops any slightly red discharge around this time when not mated however she has had a watery red discharge up until day 24 and now has a cloudy lemonade coloured discharge, it is not very bad but enough for her to be cleaning herself.Can anyone tell me if this is normal, obviously too early to tell if she is pregnant yet.
She is in fine health in all other respects.

I had the same with my Bitch soon after she was mated... I had a panic and took her to the Vets to be told that this was normal and not to worry :rolleyes:

They did give me some tablets that she could take... but I decided against that and the discharge carried on throughout her pregnancy and she delivered six very healthy pups within 3 hours and made it look so easy and it was her first litter

To clarify the discharge did not smell and was creamy and cloudy like you mentioned and this did not change throughout the pregnancy

Yes thank you it does put my mind at ease a little. I think that i am feeling a little selfish at the moment because it was my decision to put my poor little girl through all this and i feel very guilty.I feel worse about my dog than if my daughters were pregnant.

Yes I felt exactly the same and was constantly worrying that something terrible might happen and it would be all my fault.

I was a complete wreck by the time she gave birth and my partner had to do all the hard work :-) luckily he read the Book of the Bitch the night before and I was shouting instructions at him... it all worked out very well and I think I was very lucky that Pepper took it all in her stride.
