Just had to share how chuffed I am with my coloured cob.

We went to a show we've never been to before. He loaded straight onto the box without any problems (it normally takes 15-20 mins to coax him on), he was chilled when he came off the box at the other end (he normally has the stallion look about him at a new place and gets a bit bolchy, but he was relaxed - it was great!), then he went clear in the Novice horse, took him in the jump off and he knocked one! I was a little gutted but he had the fastest time so if we can just get him to lift his legs a little more we will be up there with the winners. He's improving so much its unreal. I was so pleased with him especially as it was so hot yesterday!!

Well done!!!  It's just as nice to go out and have a happy and relaxed day as it is to go out and win isn't it?

Give him a pat on the neck and a big juicy carrott from me :-)

Thats exactly it. My mum used to be quite pushy when it came to shows and only ever wanted me to win and TBH that pushed me in the opposite direction and I went off shows completely. I went to 4 shows last year in total and have been to about 5 already this year. At the beginning of the season I said to my dad I was going to go and have fun and bring Flint on more than try and win rosettes. I wanted to prove to a few certain people that he can do well. At one of the shows I came about 4th in a dressage test where a younger girl (who my mum doesnt like) came before me (2nd I think) and my mum went off on one saying "What happened? How come she beat you?" quite sternly and I just had to say that she was a better rider and that dressage is more her thing than mine. She doesnt jump so she concentrates on dressage. I like to be an all rounder and do a bit of everything!

Anyway - I was really pleased with him :p

LOvely to hear that, isn't it great when things go so well?

We had intended to go and watch Fordingbridge show yesterday but got caught in a serious queue on the dual carriageway after an accident :( and so gave up and went to the river and got an ice cream instead!
