- By ShaynLola Date 14.07.06 19:02 UTC
I can't say I share your love of them but I was brought up in a motorbike mad family so I've attended more than my fair share of IOM TTs & North West 200s...plus my brother rode Moto X until a few years ago so spent far too many of my weekends up to my eyeballs in muck
- By Brainless [gb] Date 14.07.06 19:20 UTC
I know she doesn't post much but puplenemus shares both the breed and the hubby with the bike interest

We have a Honda VFR waiting in the garage for OH to be well enough to ride it. My son also rides a VFR. Brother - in - law and nephew also bikers along with a good friend. Have another friend who is a chief scrutineer and travels all over for race meets.

sorry - Hate them, got hit by car my first time, on the back of a ZZR 1100, I ended up under neath it, loads of broken bones, cuts and bruises. never again.
- By newfiedreams Date 14.07.06 21:02 UTC
awwwrrgghhhh...that's half the fun!! Bummer really!!! That's why I did my Advanced Motorbike training...pays off and you get lower Insurance!!

I've seen some horrendous injuries when I worked in A&E, I'm always lecturing Bikers about wearing the proper kit, especially when you see idiots in the Summer, wearing shirt sleeves and trainers!

Sorry, to hear about your mishap though, very unlucky, sorry, Dawn XX

No NO NO.. I live with a bike mad man. ( a 49 year old one at that)  He has just changed from a V-Max to a XJR1300.  Don't ask me anything else :-)

My OH is a biker and he got my brother addicted to.  My bros has a VFR 750 at the moment, but OH sold his last VFR after our daughter was born 2 years ago (don't worry, he still has his AC Cobra to play with, so he's not too unhappy).

I hear rumour he's going to buy another bike next year so he and his mates can do a trip round Scotland again - they did it a few years ago and had a great time.

So far I remember him having an old Honda 400 Four, a GSX-R750, a VFR 750 and a GSX-R1000....  Me, I'm happy to be a passenger on the bikes, no intention of learning to ride one.
- By archer [gb] Date 15.07.06 11:12 UTC
I,ve thought about learning to ride but cost means I will have to stick to be a pillion:rolleyes:

I hate moterbikes, with good reason too. My BIL died on one so ever since then I hate them. The link is what happened to him.

Thats very sad.I think most 'bikers' know of people who have had serious accidents or died. However I think for some bikers its 'in the blood'.Accidents happen in all walks of life but we accept that motorbikes are dangerous. However in 34 yrs of riding the only accident OH has had was caused by a car driver.

I keep dreaming of having another bike, but a hours drive to work and dogs and money, and no garage to keep it,stops me.
I only had small trials bikes, but loved them,I learned to drive late because of having bikes but, after many harsh winters, fog snow and ice, jumping up and down and pressing my body to the nearest radiator to try and thaw out, drivers doing unexpected u turns and opening car doors,I could only ever be a fair weather biker!

My Husband and sons are into bikes. Since my husband has had his spinal fusion his motorbike has been locked away in the garage. Its a ZX9Rc2  he refuses to part with it even though he hasn`t driven it for over 3years. He suffers from chronic back pain and has degenerative disc deases so I don`t think he will every drive one again :(
- By Leanne16 Date 15.07.06 22:38 UTC
i dont have a bike myself (only 17 so gettin my driving licence first) but my dads got a thunder ace and heading up to knockhill in the mornin to see the superbikes, but once iv got a car on the road i plan to get a bike licence!
- By misstyko [gb] Date 16.07.06 09:06 UTC

- By dollface Date 16.07.06 16:50 UTC Edited 16.07.06 17:01 UTC
Yup yup yup I want a Gixxer 1000, hubby wants an Indian he just loves them. Hopimg by next year I we will get one :) Was planning on going for my learners at the end of the month but thought there is really No point since I don't have a bike to drive. Hubby doesn't want me to cause he doesn't have his and NO bike to ride so it would be like putting candy in front of a child and telling them they can't have it.... Just going to wait till we get a bike that would make alot more sense. I just love them, prob take the safety bike course as well to be on the safe side.
- By newfiedreams Date 16.07.06 20:04 UTC
Doll, you don't DRIVE a bike..you RIDE one LOL :P :P :P
- By Isabel Date 16.07.06 17:16 UTC
Hubby has the Norton Comando he got just before he got me :)  We both spent nearly three years in plaster following an accident early on in our relationship but I'm still here and so is the bike :)
- By aimibobs [gb] Date 17.07.06 07:01 UTC
Yeah, I've got a Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster and hubby has a 1200 V-Max but looking to sell for a Buell. Not done much riding this year but hope to do more next year. Safe biking everyone x

Yep me and o/h loves bikes...

I have a Suzuki Bandit 600 and he has a Suzuki GSX 1400.  He is looking a the new ZZR 1400 for next year, we do a lot of miles on our bikes.....
- By hairyloon [gb] Date 17.07.06 09:11 UTC
Yep, there's another confirmed bike addict here too!

OH has a bike which he uses for drag racing, up until a year or so ago he had a GSXR 750 on the road, which I used to love to ride pillion on.

I can ride, but haven't ever got round to taking my test, although I have recently been left some money, so I may use that towards my test. My other great love is American muscle cars, I'm on the lookout for one to race myself at the moment :-D

If I'm not messing about with 'dog' things, I can usually be found in the garage with my hands inside an engine
