Hi, well, Englebert got 1st in Limit, and the Dog CC, Prunella (who Mike bred, I co-own and she is by my dog)got 3rd in Open but we didn't mind too much because her half-sister Arabella won it and got the Bitch CC and BoB, its not too bad when you are beaten by 'one of the family'! Prunella then made up for it by winning the Champion Stakes.

Well Done Gwen,
A friend of mine got the BCC in Border Collies, her 1st such award.
She was gobsmacked, bless her, and then her girl mugged me for what
I had left of my liver.....
My girl binned in Junior and was short-listed to final 8 in the PetPlan Junior
bitch class. I was happy, and then got soaked taking the girls back to
the car at the end of the day :)

Hi Gwen
I showed on Sat (Pharaoh Hound) but since I live nearby in Hampshire I returned on Monday afternoon to watch the Gundog & Utility groups
& B.I.S.
I saw Prunella win the champion stakes & saw Arabella in the group ring.
Shame Peggy Grayson didn't appreciate Arabella. She moved lovely.
One person I know in American Cocker's commented that they were on the small side for the breed ( I wonder if it was because they have larger bitches). Perhaps I should check up the breed standard for American
Cockers.
Unfortunately I didn't get to Wales today - son's 11th birthday- but
have seen the results on highampress website. In Pharaoh's the Norwegian judge awarded B.O.B. (+ 3rd c.c.) to a Swedish dog & then
in the Hound group they won under a Finish judge.

Hi Pam, Thanks for liking our girls. Arabella has had to contend with the 'too small' criticism since coming out, even though she is well above the minimum height. Unfortunately, Mikes height can make a big dog look tiny (you should see him with the pugs!) Susan usually shows Prunella, and no one has commented on her size whith her, but it usually comes into conversation when Mike is handling! Peggy is well known as not a great fan of Americans, so we were very pleased to get even shortlisted. Arabella had a fab. write up from Liz Cartledge in last weeks papers, saying pretty much that from the ringside she had going along with the "too small, not enough dog" school of thought, until she got her hands on her, and discovered how good she was so gave her the BCC and BoB!
We have a lot of quite large dogs (and bitches) in the breed, and some awfully heavy ones. Unfortunately some people are unable to look constructively at their own dogs, who do not conform to the standard, so find it easier to be critical of ours, who do! Looking at our dogs, and our results, I know we have to be doing something right, though!

We got chucked out of breed (26 in our class and didn't get to the cut) BUT we entered in Special Beginners Stakes and got a 7th out of 19 dogs there so were pleased with that. Bought Savannah (Aphrael Aoife) an ice cream with her £1 winnings:)

My puppy Alice won Puppy bitch, out of 9, at only her 2nd show! She is one of the 2 wild Italian Greyhound puppies I wrote about before, who I thought would never behave, judging by their behaviour at ringcraft class, but as soon as she stepped in the ring, she was a proper little showgirl! Flora, the other puppy, holds her tail over her back at the mo, spoiling her topline, so didn't get placed, although they both qualified at Leeds.
They are my first litter so I am so proud of them!
Not so happy tonight though, as Alice is spending tonight at the vets, after swallowing a large piece of lamb bone and getting it stuck at the bum end. She had to have an enema, which thankfully got it out, but they want to keep her in in case there is any more.
The house is so quiet tonight!

Maisie won 1st Post Grad Bitch. This was her first ever 1st. It looked like the judge was finding it hard to choose between her & the bitch that got RBB (well, it looked like that to my mum anyway :)). Didn't mind though, as the BB & RBB were maisie's breeder's bitches. (RBB was our Albert's litter sister).
