Hello all,
This is for anyone with a working cocker, or a small active nutter thats always in hedges!.
For the last 3-4 weeks, every time i take Tizzy out, she comes back with bloody scrapes under her eyes and also inside the top of her ears. I bathe them and put CS or germolene on them, but if anyone else has this problem, have you found any way to lessen the damage done apart from not letting her off the lead?
It only seems to happen when the hedges and crops are at their dryest, just before the crops are cut down, and i think it's all down to her running through the tough stalks, she's even cut her tongue and her nose a couple of times.
The obvious answer is not to let her go-a-hunting where there are crops around, but it happens when she's in the woods as well.
She just seems to attract trouble (Bless!)
Cheers chaps
Ali :)
