does anyone know anything about the herpies injection that can be given to bitches just before mating

The bitch receives an injection at the start of her season (I think) and another injection one or two weeks before whelping.
I've found a site with reference to this and also tells you a lot about herpes, fading puppy syndrome etc.

Yep my girls have it the first injection a couple of days before mating then the second one on week 7.I wouldnt consider breeding without using it

i always do the jag you do it at 7 days after mating and 7 weeks in whelp  

Hi, our vet told us to vaccinate  first time a couple of days before mating to a week after and the second jab in the last third of pregnancy, we have used it on two bitches with excellent results one bitch we think aborted her last litter and previously had small pups this time she had  very large thriving puppies.
