Does Gill Averis have an e-mail or website?  Could someone PM it to me please as I need to ask some questions :d

Thanks
Diane

Thanks Goldmali, I have e-mailed Gil so hopefully she'll be able to help.  Unfortunately my young girl takes an hour to get to know people before allowing them to touch her, but then she will be there best friend for life.  She will not allow people who don't know her to touch her until she has agreed to it, so I'm wondering if I can still have her hips done under sedation rather than GA as I think that she will need to be muzzled, though she could prove me wrong.

She has never bit anyone but it's not worth taking the risk.  Shame really as once she knows you she will adore you forever, especially if there's food around :d She's also an extremely intelligent dog who is a lot of fun, hard work mind, but definitely a dog that impresses every day with the new tricks that she picks up :d :d

With my breed, they're not inclined to be very friendly with strangers they don't know, and especially not at the vets. :) My vet lets me stay with the dog when it is put under short term anaesthetic, just an injeciton,I sit with the dog and then I leave when the dog isn't aware of me anymore, and come back as soon as they inject it to wake up again. :)

That sounds perfect.  It's a shame because when she knows you she really wil never forget you.  She's so funny now when we go out if she sees someone that she recognises she stands on her back legs and waves to them with her front paws.  It sounds as though your breed has some of the same traits as mine and in some ways it's not a bad thing that they're not exactly the most friendly dogs in the world when they first meet someone rather that than my dog bouncing all over someone, especially if we are at the water park and someones wearing white clothes :d ;d
